Seven Hill Psychos began its formation in the summer of 1996, as East Coast
Psychos, when a guitarist, vocalist and D.J. agreed to work together to create
what they hoped would be a unique blend of hip-hop and hardcore. Encouraged
by the response from listeners, they decided to complete the sound by adding a
rhythm section. For the next year, the group strived to find the right mix of
talent and personality while building a strong following.
At a time when many bands seemed to be trying to escape the stigma of their
hometown, 7H.P. proudly embraced the "tough as nails", hard-working reputation
of theirs. Worcester, Massachusetts, the city of seven hills, is largely
overshadowed by both Boston and New York. However, the music scene is
strong, and Seven Hill Psychos has developed a supportive fan base
(affectionately termed 7HPeople).
With their high energy live shows, Seven Hill Psychos create an infectious
vibe that keeps the crowd moving. Their songs address every day social
issues; reaching out to listeners with thought provoking emotional lyrics.
They have had the opportunity to play with national acts such as 24-7 Spyz,
Lordz of Brooklyn, Murphy's Law, and Shootyz Groove.
Along with its five members, the 7H.P. family has extended to include several
close friends that help organize the business aspects of the band. Together,
they hope to share the "Seven Hill Psycho experience" with the masses.
